1980 MINI 95 Pick Up Truck

SPECIFICATIONS:

A pick-up truck 11 feet long nose to tail, 4 ½ feet wide with open-top rear cargo area and tailgate.
Payload capacity ¼ ton.
East-West engine; clutch, gears and drive axle all combined in a single unit taking up only 18” of the vehicle’s length!
4 wheel independent rubber suspension.

HISTORY:

This right hand drive Mini Pick Up spent it’s first 27 years in England and was imported into the USA in 2007 by us, all inspections, importation documentation, duty and taxes are paid and complete and it has a clear North Carolina title and current state safety inspection sticker. We have driven it regularly for the past year and a half.

From it’s launch in June 1961 the Mini pick-up retained the original Mini’s characteristic sliding windows and external door hinges throughout it’s production life. In 1978 they were renamed the Mini 95 in reference to the 0.95-ton gross vehicle weight. Only 58,179 built it is now one of the rarest of the Mini variants still on the road today, manufacturing finished in 1982.

INTERIOR:

Two seats in standard black vinyl in good condition, both have 3-point seat belts.
Walnut dashboard. No radio is fitted but aerial in roof is wired in ready.
Heater works, no a/c of course.
Windows open and slide easily as we have fitted brand new runners and catches.
New carpets.
Huge door pockets designed in these early-style Mini doors give ample storage.

EXTERIOR:

Looks great!! Minor rust on the door bottoms and wings have been professionally repaired including new door skins so this Mini looks fantastic and has no bodywork issues. Outer body shell was completely stripped of glass and trim prior to painting so no over-spray anywhere!
New grille and new black edge trim finishes it off nicely.
The load space cover is in excellent condition.
Four 12” Alloy Mini-Lite-style wheels are fitted with BRAND NEW Falken 165/60/12 tires.

MECHANICAL:

This Mini has been inspected in our workshop and we have driven it regularly for the past one and a half years – driving is fun, acceleration is fantastic and it has always been reliable, starts easily and of course gets GREAT GAS MILEAGE! The UK advertising said 50 mpg but it probably gets around 40 miles to a US gallon. The very desirable 1275 engine and brake upgrades were done in England before we bought it.

New shock absorbers have just been fitted.
New subframe and engine mounting bushes replaced.
New heater core.

We recently drove the pick up to the Euro Auto Festival in South Carolina, approximately a 3 hour round trip which included interstate driving with no problems. It easily keeps up with interstate speeds. It certainly drew the attention and delight of the spectators and was the only pick-up at the show.

Please Note: Odometer reads: 27,580 although actual mileage is unknown as the speedometer is not original to this vehicle and was fitted by a previous owner.

IMPERFECTIONS NOTED:

Load space interior shows a few dents from it’s years of use as a pick-up truck and has not been repainted. Walnut dash is not new and has some cracks and scratches. Seat bottoms are a little saggy with age. Noisy inside the cab at interstate speeds – you may wish to add soundproofing which was not fitted to these utility trucks originally.

A great little Mini, unusual, fast, eye-catching and fun. Ready to drive away and enjoy from day one.

WARNING: Do not buy this Mini if you don't want to attract attention everywhere you go and speak to everyone who sees you!
